The Giggles and Grub Comedy Show, Dinner & Dance features great food, entertainment and laugh’s. For this year’s event we have two great comedians to make you laugh, and an amazing host venue at the Burlington Convention Centre. The night also includes wonderful dinner, open bar, live and silent auction for some amazing prizes, followed by a dance and entertainment from the Johnny T Band.
Proceeds of this year’s event will go towards supporting the Halton Down Syndrome Association as well as other Rotary supported groups. Last year over 400 people attended the event raising more than $35,000 for local charities and support groups. Throughout the years this event has raised over $400,000 for Rotary Charities
Matt DiSero – Comedian & Magician
Living in Toronto, Canada, Matthew has opened shows for comedy greats such as Drew Carey and Jerry Seinfeld, and performs everywhere from Atlantic City to Tokyo. Matthew DiSero is both a comedian and magician, blending the two disciplines together to create the perfect interactive, clean and funny show for after dinner and special events. In addition to performing for private corporations, Matthew has partnered with Unicef, and SoChange a Canadian based NGO, performing in and producing shows that raise money for Malaria relief in Africa.
Jonny Harris – Comedian
Jonny Harris, is a Newfoundland actor, comedian, and writer. Most known for his roles in the CityTV’s Murdoch Mysteries, he is getting ready for his 5th season of the show. Jonny performed on the CBC Radio Comedy series, as well as appeared regularly at the Winnipeg & Halifax Comedy Festival, and has been a guest writer for “This Hour has 22 minutes”.
Brian Hope as Master of Ceremonies
Brian has performed in comedy clubs, military mess halls, fundraising & corporate events across the country and was a finalist at New York City's Underground Comedy Festival competition and Q107's Funniest Person With a Day Job. In 2010 Brian was selected to travel as part of "Team Canada", with members Guy Lafleur, Paul Gross, Virgin Radio's Wendy Daniels, MMA fighters and bands Crash Karma and The Ricky Paquette band to perform in Afghanistan for the Canadian soldiers. A trip of a lifetime and an honour to perform for the troops over Thanksgiving. Brian can also be heard on XM Radio and seen on BITE TV.
